The next step to digital

Further homes and businesses across County Durham will benefit from fast speed broadband as work begins on the second phase of the Digital Durham programme.

Over 12,000 homes and businesses across 15 communities are to be included in the next stage of the roll-out, bringing fibre broadband to communities in Sedgefield and Trimdon for the first time. There will also be a substantial investment in making fibre broadband more widely available in areas which already have the high-speed technology such as Beamish, Burnopfield, Coxhoe, Crook, Dipton, Lanchester, Meadowfield, New Brancepeth, Peterlee, Stanley and Wellfield.

Access to this modern technology will allow people to take advantage of the many benefits fast speed broadband can bring, from saving hundreds of pounds every year to multiple people online at the same time.

To find out when you home or business will get fibre broadband, go online:

Once available, broadband will be offered from a range of internet service providers.
