We LOVE being online

It’s Valentine’s Day and we’re getting mushy about our one true love…the internet!

That’s right, there’s so much to love about being online but we’ve managed to whittle it down to our top eight.

  1. Connecting with people

Whether it’s keeping in touch with family and friends or to find like-minded people that you’d never have met in real life, the internet makes connecting with people easy, simple and cost effective. From social media to email, forums to video conferencing people are connecting online more than ever.

  1. Online shopping

Convenience, quick cost comparisons and more options than you can shake a stick at- what’s not to love? Online shopping has grown significantly in the past few years due to the impact of the COVID pandemic changing the way people shop and transact. And the best part? It’s 24/7.

  1. Entertainment

Stream a movie? Check. Play suduko? Check. Watch cat videos for hours? Check. Whatever your favourite pastime, the internet delivers.

  1. Maps

The internet helps you get from A to B. You can search for an address, use maps to give you directions to the place and drop a pin where you are so others can find you. Beats an out-of-date printed map any day.

  1. Learning

Online courses, libraries online, DIY YouTube videos, there’s so many ways to expand your knowledge and learn new skills online.

  1. Job opportunities

Searching and applying for jobs is easy peasy with the internet and can even help you dig deep into the position and company to help with interviews. But that’s not all, with so many jobs located remotely now the internet opens up a world of opportunity. Working from a beach anyone?

  1. Creativity

With a multitude of apps and websites to help and inspire you it’s not hard to get those creative juices flowing. From arts and crafts to interior design and creative writing, there’s a space on the internet for it all.

  1. Bargains

Who doesn’t love a bargain? Being online helps you compare costs, search for money off vouchers, save on petrol and parking and make the most of online only deals. Get more bang for your buck now!
