Phase 2

Phase 2 of the Digital Durham programme is currently in progress. Work under Contract 2 is expected to deliver superfast broadband, with minimum download speeds of 24 Mbps, to over 27,000 homes and businesses by September 2021.

The areas detailed in a light orange colour in the map below provide an indication of the postcodes that have already been upgraded under this phase of the programme. The map is not accurate to property level and some postcodes will have partial superfast coverage.

Follow the step by step guide on our Go Faster page to check if you can upgrade to superfast broadband.

Map that shows how the programme area is classified in terms of Next Generation Access broadband. It shows where our programme has invested in superfast broadband infrastructure during contract two deployment (July 2016 to September 2021). This map also indicates where commercial organisations are already delivering superfast broadband. The map also shows local authority boundaries.

Supporting information

The map is not accurate at a property or postcode level and should not be interpreted as such.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to guarantee for every property to get access to superfast broadband speeds for a variety of reasons.

Unforeseen issues do crop up from time to time. Any future work is subject to survey and may change as the rollout progresses.

The map is correct at Feb 2020. It is based on data received as part of an Open Market Review carried out in 2018 by Durham County Council, Public Consultation in June 2019 that followed, and information provided by Openreach (as the supplier) as part of the BDUK framework procurement.
